South African executives face the distinct challenge of building a reputation that is deep enough to master volatile local markets and broad enough to command respect on the global stage. Our dual-accredited Flexible Executive MBA is structured around that exact reality. By anchoring a top-tier UK qualification right here on the continent, we ensure your MBA provides both immediate operational value and international currency that can take you far. There is a reason why Henley has been rated the number one MBA business school eight consecutive years. Our whole-person, challenging approach creates bold thinkers, authentic leaders and remarkable African entrepreneurs who are building the businesses that build Africa.
Three key advantages of this degree stand out:
You will build a powerful network of friends and collaborators
Work with an incredible group of peers under pressure and build trust and lasting friendships as a result
You will raise your sights
Be uncomfortably, usefully challenged – in ways that classroom simulations cannot replicate because the problems are real. This will unlock a whole new layer of confidence that only comes from being pushed beyond your comfort zone, and succeeding
You will become clearer on what you stand for
Learn to trust your own judgement under pressure and know what kind of a leader you want to be. Not because you've memorised frameworks, but because you've tested your thinking in conditions where it matters
Voted the top MBA business school in South Africa for eight years in a row (PMR.africa 2018-2025)
Our powerful alumni network spans more than 167 countries
Our classrooms are diverse, with more than two-thirds of the class Black and female on average
One of only 125-130 global business schools to hold triple-crown accreditation – AMBA, AACSB, EQUIS. Plus, Henley is accredited by the African Association of Business Schools
An MBA is a challenging journey, but at Henley, you never walk it alone. Henley MBA graduates consistently report that on this programme they experience moments – they call them epiphanies – where something shifts, permanently. A deeper layer of personal insight is unlocked. New avenues of opportunity open up. Read their stories below.
Doing the MBA at Henley has made me think differently and more broadly about things. Not simply acknowledging a problem and deciding nothing can be done, but rather exploring the issue, identifying the contributing factors and deciding which ones we can actually do something about.
I had to dig deep when I started my MBA at Henley Business School. It's a programme that uniquely demands greater self-awareness alongside elevation of thinking and capacity to lead organisations. This is something I see every day as I coach MBA students at Henley, too. You have to understand how you respond to triggers and situations, and why you respond the way you do. I was aided in improving my self-awareness through the programme and readings I did on what happens at the neurological level – right there in the brain – when we feel uncomfortable, when our most sacred and ingrained beliefs and truths are being challenged.
The MBA is more than just the three letters on LinkedIn: It’s about the EQ work that we do, the self-reflection, and challenging ourselves to be better human beings. It’s also about being exposed to like-minded people.
I fell in love with learning while doing my MBA and the journey was profound. It was about so much more than gaining insights into subjects like critical thinking and self-reflection; it also taught me resilience and the importance of perseverance. Above all, it shaped me into a stronger leader who prioritises people.

The personal mastery component of the MBA also had a profound impact on me. More than I could have imagined. I am an intensely private person by nature but thanks to the trust I had in the facilitator and my belief in the confidentiality of the process I felt safe enough to do the intense self-reflection required to reach a deeper level of self-awareness.
MBA programmes often promise you that you will make friends for life, and in my case, at Henley Business School Africa, this has literally, been true!
You are ready to take our Flexible Executive MBA if you’ve reached the edge of what your current way of thinking can handle, and you know it and want to do something about it. We are looking for ambitious people who manage others, or manage a function, or an organisation. You will ideally carry real responsibility and have at least three years of management experience. This means you've already made enough decisions to know what good judgement feels like; or more precisely, what its absence feels like.
To join this prestigious MBA programme, you must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must have a minimum of three years of middle to senior business management experience
Evidence of competence in English, if your last degree was not completed at an English institution – See: English language requirements (PDF)**
An Honours degree or equivalent professional or international qualification with an NQF 8 level*
You must be able to gain access to company data for assignment purposes
An honours degree or equivalent professional or international qualification is required; however, we do welcome applications from candidates with exceptional management experience who may not meet all the formal criteria for admission. If you have a minimum of five years of work experience at a senior or strategic level and are without the required qualification, we would consider an application on the grounds of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Management experience typically includes responsibility for people, budgets, strategy, operations, or decision-making at team, departmental, or organisational level.
Your progress is a personal journey, and we are here to help you accomplish everything that you and your company possibly can. We take pride in graduating outstanding executives – normal people with exceptional skills and extraordinary commitment – who get results at an international level.
