Place yourself in a crucible for global leadership

Global leadership is not the same as having worked in multiple countries. It's a particular kind of thinking that can hold competing cultural logics simultaneously, that can make decisions in environments with different rules, and maintain reputation and ethical clarity when both are under pressure. The Henley Global Executive MBA was designed to develop that. Not by teaching it, but by placing you repeatedly in situations where you have to practise it. Here's what sets this programme apart:

Five global immersions. Each one purposeful

The programme includes five international study visits that are integral to the learning. Two visits are to Henley's academic home in the UK. One is in Finland. One is in Singapore. And one is in Cape Town, bringing the African context back to the centre of the programme.

Exclusive networking with a global cohort

Henley's Global Executive MBA is ranked 8th in the world for the seniority of its cohort (Financial Times 2025), so you will be joining an elite group of leaders from across the globe. While you will primarily learn with peers from South Africa, on each immersion you will join up with groups drawn from the UK and the Nordics.

Unrivalled value in Africa

The Global Executive MBA is priced for the local economy at 30% less than if you joined the same programme from the UK or the EU. Plus, you graduate with two qualifications: a UK degree and a South African qualification, setting you up for success in a world where business does not sit neatly on one continent.

New horizons, uncannily relevant, CEO-level connections: The things our alumni say about the Global Executive MBA

Caroline (1)

Caroline Bixby didn’t do Henley’s Global MBA to prove herself. She did it to grow as a neurodivergent leader. And it delivered.

‘Honestly, the collective experience in the class is what makes the experience truly transformative. You couldn’t pay to get that kind of experience in one room at any seminar you might attend. And these highly intelligent people are your friends and colleagues. It’s just unbelievable.’

Giuseppe Chiorazzo (4)

It took Italian-born marketing executive Giuseppe Chiorazzo five years of intense reflection before choosing Henley’s flagship Global Executive MBA programme. The factor that sealed the deal was the conviction that he was missing a crucial global business perspective in his work – and that Henley’s Global MBA could bridge this gap.

'A global outlook is needed to help us to break out of the silos and “bubbles” in which we are inclined to operate. And while operating in such a bubble may seem like a safe bet, it really isn’t a great idea. It is like being on autopilot. Fine until you hit turbulence. The reality is that until you break out of your bubble and expose yourself to difference, the only voice you will hear is your own, and that will weaken your business decision-making.’

Vekondja Kuzee

Vekondja Kuzee, the CIO of Namibia's largest financial services institution, thrives on the human connection. As the sole Namibian in his cohort, and part of the first-ever intake of African students on the degree, Kuzee says he has enjoyed finding himself in a vibrant ‘melting pot’ of minds from across the globe – Europe, Asia, and South Africa – that is broadening his perspective in a truly profound way.

'The programme has been uncannily relevant to my work so far. It’s like it was tailor-made as a practical laboratory for real-world application to suit my own work needs.  I see my Global Executive MBA as a key step towards leveraging CEO-level connections and conversations that can make an impact for others at home.'

Tatenda Chikuku-1

Tatenda Chikuku spontaneously decided to sign up for the inaugural African cohort of the Henley Global Executive MBA, and he says he has no regrets, only gratitude.

'It's so far been one of the greatest investments I've made in my life. From the people I’ve met, the discussions I’ve had, the real-world projects I’ve worked on, the global immersions – even the pressure to deliver an assignment, I’ve found myself relishing and enjoying every moment.'

Emma Orman (1)

The letters ‘MBA’ had always been a goal for Emma Orman, an experienced leader in the healthcare sector, but the true prize of her Global Executive MBA at Henley wasn’t a certificate on the wall; it was a radical internal rewiring that redefined her professional trajectory.

'It’s a phenomenal course that will redefine you, personally and professionally. To truly get the most out of it, and for it to be absolutely transformative, lean into the personal development, which is the vehicle that can really take you places. The personal insights reshape every contribution you make. If you understand yourself and how you operate, you remodel everything. It’s beautiful, it’s like the common denominator.'

Rosina Smith (2)

For many high-achievers, the trajectory is clear: climb the corporate ladder, secure the corner office, and chase the next promotion. Rosina Smith followed this script – excelling in the fast paced world of insurance, only to discover that true fulfilment lies not just in business success, but in purpose, community and personal liberation.

'Ironically, the Global Executive MBA gave me the confidence to realise that life is more than just business. When people ask me if they should do an MBA, I say, yes, sure, 100% – just be prepared to tear up the expectations you go in with. You’re going to get a whole new set of goals. But just welcome those with open arms.'

Philile Mdletshe says the Global Executive MBA has been an invitation to a deeper level of personal and professional growth.

‘My cohort – both my South African group and the broader international group of students – have become like family. It's more than a cultural and learning experience; you build rapport with people, you look forward to seeing them, and you see their growth and career advancement through the programme, and it’s really rewarding. You are invested in their success as much as your own. In fact, this collective experience is a critical part of your own learning and personal transformation. You quite literally couldn’t do it without your fellow candidates.’

Redefine African leadership

At Henley, you’re not forced to choose between “African business” and “global business.” You’re built for the seam where they meet, which, increasingly, is where the real value lives. Become an exceptional leader who thinks and acts with clarity, confidence, and conviction and is equipped to build Africa's influence in global business.

Apply for the Global Executive MBA if you want acceleration and global exposure

The Global Executive MBA cohort is small and deliberately curated. The peer group is part of the education. You will be surrounded by people who operate at the same level as you, or higher, and who will not let you coast. This programme is ideal for senior executives, people who already operate at scale across functions, geographies, or enterprise-level complexity, and people who are preparing for the global C-suite, or who are already there and want the judgement to match the altitude.

To join this prestigious Global Executive MBA, you must meet the following criteria:

Management experience

Applicants must have a minimum of three years of middle to senior business management experience

English competence

Evidence of competence in English, if your last degree was not completed at an English institution – See: English language requirements (PDF)**

Academic qualification

An Honours degree or equivalent professional or international qualification at NQF Level 8

Company access

You must be able to access company data for assignment purposes

No NQF Level 8 certification?

An Honours degree or equivalent professional or international qualification is required; however, we do welcome applications from candidates with exceptional management experience who may not meet all the formal criteria for admission. If you have a minimum of five years of work experience at a senior or strategic level and are without the required qualification, we would consider your application on the grounds of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Ready to go global?

There is nothing in the African market to touch Henley's Global Executive MBA. You'll graduate with two qualifications: a full UK degree and a full South African qualification. That matters when your career doesn’t sit neatly on one continent, and the careers worth having rarely do.

Ranked 16 places ahead of the next QS-ranked Executive MBA in Africa, this is not a marginally better MBA. It’s a different category of MBA, engineered for the kind of leader Africa and the world actually need

The next intake is in October 2026. Make sure you are part of it.
